Hi, I'm Shefali Sahay!

Thanks for visiting my store. A little about me: I'm a South Asian, Disabled, and womxn multimedia artist with a passion for painting, drawing, videography, photography, among other disciplines. I graduated from Rutgers University in New Brunswick in spring 2023 as a Visual Arts major.
Where do I find inspiration?
I draw inspiration from my everyday surroundings and life experiences, finding and visualizing joy and beauty in little moments.
Why am I an artist?
When I was a child, my Autism was severe. In those early years, I was nonverbal. However, art was the way I could communicate my feelings and thoughts. As the years passed, that didn’t change — even as I did. I began exploring all types of media, from photorealistic fine arts like acrylics, oils, and colored pencil, to videography and photography. Art is my biggest strength, just as it was when I was younger.

Painting plan or drawing plan
If you struggle with proportions, sizing, and placement when drawing, I suggest you watch this art tutorial. Of course, you also don’t have to take my suggested method if you don’t find it to be helpful.

How I Paint Rainbows
In this art tutorial, I show you how I painted this rainbow using acrylic paints in my most recent painting, ‘A Cup If Watchung Lake’. Of course, create rainbows in any method which is helpful to you. You don’t have to follow my method of creating rainbows.

A Daisy In Bloom
For day one of Peachtober, I just drew a daisy I saw in my neighborhood in the spring. It was really beautiful and really memorable.
